Pizza: A Reflection of People
For many years, I have considered and interpreted a city's signature pizza style to be a reflection of the denizens of that respective city.
From rich to poor and simple to bizarre, cities have a way of bringing their personalities, stereotypes, strengths, and weaknesses to the dish. In this article, I will cover five American cities and two American states that show their true colors in the pizza pan.
New York City... The Urbanite
The New York slice is quick and to-the-point. With no time for nonsense, this slice garners much respect for its simple and nimble nature. Most notably, of course, is the thin crust... after all, the New Yorker doesn't want to be bogged down by extra carbs. Impatient yet sophisticated, the New Yorker can keep up appearances all while enjoying a few slices between commutes.
